SWOM

Swom is a social network for internet and offline marketers owned and run by Vocalix Technologies. Though it is a place where marketers can meet and network with each other, it is also a money-making service in itself, in that members can potentially make commissions by referring others to join the site. When you join the network, you get your own dashboard, and you can create or join groups consisting of members with whom you have interests in common.
There are two membership levels in the Swom social networking site; free and Gold. As a free member, you’re limited as to what you can do on the site. You can join groups but you can’t start any of your own. You can recruit other people to the site but you won’t make any commissions when they upgrade to Gold membership unless you are a Gold member yourself. You can’t participate in any of the “Open University” activities, which is basically an area where you can get advice and help from administration and other members. As a free member, however, you can look around and talk with other members through messages, and get to know how everything works.
Gold membership costs $24.95 per month. When you upgrade to Gold, a lot more doors are opened to you on the site. You earn $15 for every person you refer to Swom who subsequently upgrades to Gold membership, then $5 a month thereafter for all of your referrals who stay Gold members. There is also a bonus pool from which you can earn money if you actively recruit free members to Gold membership through sending messages of encouragement. Both free and Gold Swom members can earn community points by doing such activities as posting comments and welcoming new members. These points can go toward things such as advertising your business opportunities.
Swom is basically supposed to help online and offline business people connect and network with each other, with the obvious positive results. The strongest emphasis, however, seems to be on encouraging members to upgrade to Gold and recruit other Gold members. The groups within the site seem to focus mostly on advertising people’s business opportunities.
Feedback on the Swom social networking site seems to be mixed. A lot of people say that it is a great way to get together with people who are interested in the same kind of businesses you are, while others say it’s nothing but a money-making scheme and a place to spam others with business opportunities. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. If you find the right people there, you could get some positive results from networking with them, though finding people who want more than just to recruit and earn commissions could take some effort.
The Whois information for a website lists the owner and their contact information. The owner of "Swom" has purposely made their Whois information private. While not always a bad thing, this could mean they have something to hide.
